 Visitors and Participants

The probability and statistics groups of the University of Melbourne and the National University of Singapore have been collaborating with each other for many years. These connections have led to a number of successful programmes and workshops at IMS, which in turn have strengthened existing ties and paved the way for further fruitful collaborations.

The two groups have felt that the time is right to organise regular meetings, with the venue alternating between the two universities. Given the important role that IMS has played in fostering the interaction between our groups, it is fitting that the Second Melbourne-Singapore Probability and Statistics Forum be held at IMS. We hope that these meetings will not only benefit the established researchers but will also stimulate our students’ interest in probability and statistics and

facilitate student exchanges between the two universities.
